The story behind Bhimas Paradise, and the family that's kept it running.
Tirupati is the spiritual heart of South India, and travellers have been arriving here for the hill temple long before the highway had a name for it. Mr. K R Gopal Iyer and his brothers opened their first hotel in the city in 1960, built on a simple idea: a clean room, honest food, and a welcome that doesn't run out at midnight.
That first hotel grew into KRG Hotels, a family-run group that now runs several properties across Tirupati — of which Bhimas Paradise, on Renigunta Road, is one. It's built for two kinds of travellers — the pilgrim heading up to Tirumala at dawn, and the visitor in town for work — and it treats both the same way: with air-conditioned comfort, a pure-vegetarian kitchen, and a staff that keeps the lobby lit at 3 a.m.
Renigunta Road puts guests close to the railway station and the airport road, while still being a short drive from the temple town's centre — useful whether you're catching an early bus up the hill or a late flight home. Inside, the priorities haven't changed much since 1960: keep the rooms cool, keep the kitchen vegetarian, and keep someone at the desk no matter what time a guest walks in.
